The first thing that must be said is that I'm really not a big fan of "bios" or "about mes" because I think people generally either sell themselves as if they are on dating shows, or they try to be so abstract and "creative" that their "abstraction" comes across as nothing more than confusing. I find that profound statements are made when people are least trying. Profound thoughts are the result of living--and sitting at a computer, searching and slaving over finding exactly the "right" words to express a thought that you had while making a deuce in the crapper this morning, in my mind, is just superficial. But that's just me. To each his own. So aside from my views on bios and superficiality...
I am an English literature major at the University of Anywhere. I am a female and a feminist, and no, I am not a lesbian. Anyone who makes the claim that it is impossible to be all three simultaneously can kiss my ass. Being a feminist does not mean you hate men, that you have short spikey hair, that you can bench press more than a hundred pounds, or that you have a collection of cats. No--being a feminist means that you are proud to be a woman. It means that you respect yourself and that you realize that all women have more than their ovaries to offer to the world.
I am also the unluckiest person you will ever meet--but I'm okay with that. In the end, my talent for finding myself in really bad situations is what makes me me. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger and I'm not dead yet so I figure I'm pretty fucking strong. This blog will most likely turn into a testament of my ridiculous life mishaps. I hope you all get a kick out of it. So enjoy it or don't--I don't really care. But if you take anything at all away from it, I hope it's positive.
Laugh, cry, bitch, console, plan, execute--but most of all--be. You're alive--you might as well.
